Why I Started?

If you are like me, you find the price of art well over what you are willing to pay. While I understand many artists are trying to sell low volume at high prices, its just too high of  price for me. However I find most big stores have pretty terrible artwork that still are pricier than I care for. So I decided one day to look into the actual process of making your own oil paintings and realized I can easily create multiple oil paintings for the price of one giclee print.

How you can get started?

You really don’t need much, just some basic supplies

  • Set of Oil Paint (~$10)
  • Low Odor Paint Thinner (~$4) (definitely get low odor, its worth it)
  • Paint Brushes ($5)
  • Canvas (you can either get a 10 page sketchbook for around $3 or buy large prestrenched canvas $10-20)
  • Plastic palette knife set ($5)
