Remote Desktop into Console Session

If you have used remote desktop to a Windows 2003 or 2008 server, you know it likes to open a new session. Which normally is great so you don’t disturb someone using the server’s console but sometimes you need access the main console because a program that can only run one instance may already be running on the console.

Goto Start > Run

Type in “mstsc /admin”

Enter the server you want to as you normally do and click connect. It will log into the console session now.
